Pushwalla Canyon, Piyon Well
Eldorado Mill, Mines, Unusual Cistern
Today we are going for a hike in Joshua Tree National Park up the old Pushwalla Canyon
Freight Road. Along the way we will visit Pinyon Well, Eldorado Mill site, a few mines along
the way and a very unusual cistern. Lets take a hike!
We will be heading up this wash that at one time was the primary
freight road for mines into what is now Joshua tree National Park. It
operated in the nineteen hundreds and was known as the Pushwalla
Canyon Freight Road.
I love hiking this time of year.
The first solder sealed tin can. The mill and well must be close.
Hard to imagin this was a major freight road.
